ANU and ATO to launch new community tax clinics

The Australian National University (ANU) will launch new tax clinics to assist marginalised community members with their tax affairs this Thursday.

Under the Australian Tax Office (ATO) initiative, students from the ANU College of Business and Economics will provide the public with key information at new tax clinics operating in community centres across Canberra.

ATO Assistant Commissioner Damien Browne will attend the launch with ANU academics and students.

The accounting students have been competitively chosen to work at the clinics and will operate under the mentorship of qualified tax accountants.
