The Minister’s speech will focus on the COVID-19 period and beyond. During the address she will outline Australia’s agenda, including the central focus of our national interests.
The Foreign Minister will also discuss the importance of global institutions delivering on their mandates.
Head of the ANU National Security College, Professor Rory Medcalf, said the speech would be a “must listen”.
“The COVID-19 crisis has combined with strategic tensions to expose the risks and vulnerabilities that accompany global connectedness,” Professor Medcalf said.
“Australia has coped well with the pandemic, and as a respected international player has a pivotal role in helping its region and the world. There is a critical need for coordination among nations and international institutions.
“We are honoured to host the Foreign Minister for this important address on how Australia can navigate the challenging time ahead.”
The address will be livestreamed from 6-7pm, Tuesday 16 June.
