MEDIA ALERT – New homes open to hundreds of ANU students

The Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) will tomorrow open Wright and Bruce Halls, two new residential halls at The Australian National University (ANU).

Wright and Bruce Halls will be home to more than 800 students. Tomorrow’s official opening ceremony will be attended by Graham and Louise Tuckwell, who provided funding for the halls. Wright Hall is named after Louise Tuckwell’s family.

After the official proceedings, media are invited to tour the two halls with the Governor General, Graham and Louise Tuckwell, ANU Chancellor and ANU Vice-Chancellor.


WHAT: Opening of Wright and Bruce Halls by Governor General, and tour of facilities. Speeches by Governor General, Graham and Louise Tuckwell, ANU Chancellor, ANU Vice-Chancellor and student representative.

WHEN: Wednesday, 5 February 2019. Ceremony begins at 10am, tour of halls will begin at 11am until 11:15am.

WHERE: Wright and Bruce Halls, Daley Road, Acton. Parking is available directly on site.
