Leading experts gather for propaganda and violent extremism conference

Thursday, October 12, 2017 — Leading experts will be speaking at the Information Warfare in the 21st century conference on propaganda and violent extremism, to be held at The Australian National University (ANU) on Monday. Australian journalist Peter Greste will give the opening keynote address.

The conference will feature a number of international terrorism experts, with an emphasis on researchers with first-hand experience in conflict zones and working in the security field:

  • Dr Craig Whiteside, US Naval War College (USA)

  • Dr Alastair Reed, Director of the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, the Hague (Netherlands)

  • Dr Haroro Ingram, Department of International Relations, ANU

  • Professor Rory Medcalf, Head of the ANU National Security College
